Personal History: Nikolai was born and raised in Moscow by his blood-purist parents, Ivan and Svetlana Rosier. From an early age, the parents instilled an unabashed sense of superiority to Muggle-born and half-blood witches and wizards in their three sons. The boys attended Durmstrang Institute, where their family interest in the Dark Arts became even further indoctrinated. Aleksandr, the eldest, is four years older than Nikolai and graduated from Durmstrang three years ago. Alexei, the middle son, is two years older and graduated from the same institute the previous year. Nikolai, the youngest, was set to graduate from Durmstrang Institute next year. However, due to some sketchy business deals on his father's behalf, the family has been exiled from Bulgaria, so Nikolai has been sent to Hogwarts instead.

RP Receiving Your Acceptance Letter: Nikolai was speaking to his older brother Alexei through the Floo Network in the drawing room when the post arrived. The owl was pecking incessantly at the window, and Nikolai left the fireplace to gather the post. Thumbing through the letters, he noticed one addressed to himself that held a familiar stamp. Nikolai knew that his father was under investigation for the distribution of dark artifacts, but he was unaware that the entire Rosier family would soon be exiled from Bulgaria. His father had anticipated this, though, and in preparation for Nikolai's impending departure from Durmstrang Institute, had applied to Hogwarts for him. Being rather intellectual, Nikolai surmised that the dealings of his father were more serious than he'd been told, and concluded that he must be expected to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry this year. Although very disappointed that he wouldn't be able to graduate from the same school that his brothers and friends had attended, Nikolai decided to put on a brave face for his father and accept the transfer. When his mother came to gather the post, he acted very excited about the whole ordeal and went to pack.
